5 Questions that define my music interest
- What are a few favourite songs / bands of yours and why?
- AC\DC, I like them because i have noticed in many of there songs they play 8TH Note rides and it just sounds so much more different from an 8TH Note ride, and the way they just keep timing with every transition from , lets say 8TH Notes to Triplets, 16TH Notes to Quarter Notes, Sixtuplets ( AKA 16TH Note Triplets) To 8TH Notes, and everything just stays in place. Like for example if they play 1, 2-&-a 3 & 4, and switch to 16th notes , all of it stays the same but the time doubles up.
- How do you find new music you like?
- How i find new music i like is i have this main playlist called Dea's Choice, every time i hear a song i like, i add it there , and how i find songs i like is, on my spotify home screen, spotify mixes songs based on my choice of music and playlists like Daily Mix 1, Daily Mix 2 , Rock 1980's Mix, Hip-Hop 2010's Mix, and i play that and hear different songs from that, thats how i hear new music .
- Who are your drumming influences & what do you like about them?
- Amit Kilam, Drummer of Indian Ocean, i learned a few things from him, because he is a close friend of my dad's , i like him because he has a very creative mind and has a way of making a simple beat into something you can just sit and listen to for hours.
e.g if you listen to the song "Akhiyan Udeek Diyan" a nusrat fateh ali khan song covered by Indian Ocean you will observe this creativity. - Phil Rudd (AC/DC) Another one of my drummer influencers is the drummer of AC\DC, I like him because i have noticed in many of there songs he plays 8TH Note rides and it just sounds so much more different from an 8TH Note ride, and the way he just keep timing with every transition from , lets say 8TH Notes to Triplets, 16TH Notes to Quarter Notes, Sixtuplets ( AKA 16TH Note Triplets) To 8TH Notes, and everything just stays in place. Like for example if they play 1, 2-&-a 3 & 4, and switch to 16th notes , all of it stays the same but the time doubles up.
